Simple yet important advice for anyone thinking about building or renovating a home – especially if its your first time going through the process.
The message is simple: if you are planning on building a new home or renovating one, please speak to a construction lawyer prior to signing any sort of agreement, proposal, contract, estimate etc. with a builder/contractor/designer etc.
I understand the temptation to “sign on the dotted line” after meeting with a company that is promising you the world, however the risks associated with doing so without first having the proper legal advice can be devastating financially and emotionally.
